After Saturday’s fights in the groups (the Preliminary groups), only the best teams competed in the “streetball arena”
in the middle of the city. Who visited the surrounding, definitely didn´t regret. And how was it on
Sunday?
Ranking in groups:
Group E
1st place: Latvia
2nd place: Croatia
3rd place: No a co?! (forfeit – don´t arrive on Sunday finals)
Group F
1st place: Poland
2nd place: Russia
3rd place: Ukraine
Group G
1st place: Italy
2nd place: SPS (CZE)
3rd place: Netherlands
Group H
1st place: Serbia
2nd place: Germany
3rd place: Triple Trouble (CZE)
The traditional program was shooting competition in 3pt Shoot out. The most accurate was the player
from Croatia (Hrvoje Marin) who deserved the first place in this competition.
If Saturday’s tournament was a “support acter” then Sunday time was an absolute “star”. A favorite competition
Slam Dunk Battle for Europe was a clear proof. Even many rounds didn´t show who’s the best
and most spectacular dunker. The first place guy called Smoove (Ukraine) presented his last
attempt to bring the audience and the jury into the boiling temperature!
Play off:
The “losers play off” for 5th – 7th place nicely invited the teams that were on the 2nd places in the groups. So in
one game you should have met guys from SPS against Croatia. Unfortunately, the game ended 5-0 for Croatia
because of “no show” of the team SPS.
Another never realized game was between Russia and Germany which finished by forfeit 5-0, this time for the
Russian team. That was a pity that Germany’s finest could playt because of the player´s injury.
It was very exciting match for the 5th place between Russia and Croatia. Russia defeated Croatia with the result 14 :
13.
“Winners play off” was played by the teams from the first places of the groups. In another tight match, Lithuania
defeated Italy and pushed its way towards the grand final.
Not only the result of the match between Poland and Serbia (13:6) indicated that this battle was more definite.
The atmosphere and the audience. Finally, the quality of the streetball! Finals offered all of these including Sunday
evening in the city rush. Despite the tiredness, there were an exclusive European teams battle between Latvia
and Serbia which finished about just one point difference (12 : 11) for Latvians who then took home the
valuable scalp from Prague.
Overall ranking of the tournament:
1st place: Latvia
2nd place: Serbia
3rd place: Poland
4th place: Italy
5th place: Russia
6th place: Croatia
7th place: SPS (CZE) & Germany
Note: The game for 7th place was canceled due to injury (Germany) and absence of the Czech team.
